The intention behind
Alexander on the Hoof is a simple one; it is to offer riders the chance to have an introductory course of Alexander Lessons at the stables where they normally ride. In this way the rider, not only has the chance to learn a new and rewarding skill of great value, but also to begin to apply this knowledge directly and immediately to their riding.
For most riders riders whether beginners, intermediate or advanced - amateur or professional - the limiting factor to progress is usually that imposed by the rider’s imperfect use of his or her own body. Once a rider is encouraged to devote some time and attention to this question - with expert tuition on hand - remarkable progress can be made.
And, of course what is true for riders is equally true for their non-riding friends, parents and colleagues who are also very welcome to take part. The various pages of this web site are arranged in a simple and logical order - of course it is possible to skip to any section you wish to read - and this can be very useful - but whatever your existing level of knowledge of Alexander Technique - a read through from section to section should give you a clear picture of what is proposed and how you can take part.
